Uzès is a historic town of Languedoc. Situated between Provence and the Cévennes, it rises on a rocky promontory surrounded by vineyards, olive groves, and garrigue scrubland. The old town has a unique charm, with medieval pedestrian streets and a remarkable architectural unity thanks to its 17th-century white-stone façades.

Every winding street tells a story, transforming the town into a living museum dotted with around forty listed mansions and dominated by four medieval towers:
- the Ducal Palace (12th–18th c.),
- the King’s Tower,
- the Bishop’s Tower,
- the cathedral’s campanile.

At the heart of the city, Place aux Herbes, surrounded by medieval arcaded houses and centered around a large fountain, hosts the famous Saturday producers’ market. Here you can enjoy local specialties and discover regional craftsmanship, infused with the scents of Provence and Languedoc.

Hundreds of local producers offer freshly grown vegetables, poultry, spices, bread, pastries, olives, wine, beauty products, herbes de Provence, and much more.

Just outside Uzès, a natural spring rises in the nearby Eure Valley. The Romans once harnessed this source to supply water to Nemausus, the Roman city of Nîmes. To channel its flow over a 43-km route all the way to Nîmes, they built numerous stone structures : the Roman aqueduct. The most spectacular of these archaeological remains is the Pont du Gard—located just 10 km from Uzès and listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1985.

Only 5 km from town, the Collias river beach offers refreshing swimming all summer long.

A major geological and historical site, the Gorges du Gardon, a natural park extending on both sides of the river, have been protected since 2015 as a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve.

Uzès also offers countless outdoor activities: kayaking, mountain biking, horse riding, climbing, and more.

Within an hour, you can reach the Camargue, the Cévennes, the Luberon, or the beautiful sandy beaches of the Mediterranean.
